We have a few policies for our tournaments and competitions to ensure that you enjoy your time competing and so that we can offer you the best possible squash competition experience.

  • All individuals are expected to display a high standard of behaviour at all times as per our Code of Conduct.
  • If you are entering a competition your name, email address, age, club, and gender may be entered into SportyHQ for the purpose of running the tournament digitally and to enhance your tournament experience. You may receive automated emails from SportyHQ aimed at enhancing your tournament experience. These can be opted out of.
  • Email addresses of players entered in a competition may be entered into our emailing list. These emails can be opted out of.
  • Email addresses may be used to email you regarding competitions in the future. These emails can be opted out of.
  • Any withdrawal out of the competition once entries have closed off will be charged the full entry cost. Entry close off is usually about one week before the competition.
  • No consumption/use of alcohol, non-prescription drugs, smoking, or similar substances under any circumstances is allowed by juniors when partaking in any competition, at any squash club/centre, or any squash related event or activity.
  • Eyewear is compulsory for all participants in junior social, casual, beginner, intermediate, super competitions.
  • Photographs and/or video will occasionally be taken during competitions and events. These photographs and videos are for the primary use of social media pages, websites, marketing material. In some tournaments there will also be a livestream operating throughout the tournament which can be viewed on our website or on YouTube. If you do not wish to be used in photographs and/or videos for any reason please let us know.
  • By joining and participating in any competition or event you are agreeing to all the above policies unless you notify us prior. If you have any questions or concerns please send us an email at compete@doubledotsquash.com.

Competition Format Before the Match

  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before your match time.
  • If you are a second round match you will need to arrive in time for the first round match to help core it.
  • Check the court schedule or draw for your court number and check if it is running on time.
  • Warm up prior to your match start.
  • Be on court on time, or if it is delayed immediately after the previous match has finished.
  • In the warm up hit the ball a maximum of three times consecutively then hit it cross court to your opponent.
  • The warm up is to be two minutes on each side, timed and called by the marker.

During the Match

  • Do not argue with the referees.
  • Own up to your double bounces and out shots.
  • Respect your opponent, referees, spectators, and coaches.
  • Do not delay the game.
  • Each game is either first to 11 points or first to 15 points. This will be displayed on the competition page online and on the scoring tablets, and may vary for different divisions.
  • A point is awarded every rally, unless a let is being played.
  • At 10-10 or 14-14 onwards a player must win by two clear points.
  • After each game there is a 90 second rest period allowed. Please be on court before this time is completed.
  • If you are bleeding you must leave the court to stop the bleeding immediately after asking the referee.
  • If you are injured and need a recovery time this must be immediately asked to the referee.

After the Match

  • Give your opponent a hand shake and thank the marker/referee.
  • Display sportsmanship, win or lose.
  • Go to the back of the court you just played on to mark/referee the next match on court. Ensure the next match starts on time.
  • Your match result will be updated on the draw automatically from the scoring tablet.
  • Please check your next match time online.

Code of Conduct

By joining any of our competitions you agree to the Code of Conduct and other relevant policies.

  • Follow all competition rules, policies, and guidelines set.
  • Display good sportsmanship at all times to others.
  • Behave appropriately at all times and never in a way which may endanger or risk the safety of yourself or others.
  • Do not use inappropriate language or actions at any time.
  • Show respect to all players, spectators, coaches, referees, tournament managers, and others.
  • Respect all referee and competition management decisions.

Failure to adhere to the Code of Conduct will result in various actions depending on the severity of the breach.

Introduction

While squash is a competitive game, it is important to behave appropriately and respect others. It is important that spectators, parents, and coaches encourage players competing and show good sportsmanship, respect for others, and not negatively interfere with the match.

Code of Conduct

  • By joining or attending any competition as a spectator, parent, or coach you agree to the Code of Conduct and other relevant policies.
  • Follow all competition rules, policies, and guidelines set.
  • Display good sportsmanship at all times to others.
  • Behave appropriately at all times and never in a way which may endanger or risk the safety of yourself or others.
  • Do not use inappropriate language or actions at any time.
  • Show respect to all players, spectators, coaches, referees, tournament managers, and others.
  • Respect all referee and competition management decisions.
  • Do not communicate with a referee before, during or after matches regarding decisions.
  • Encourage your child/player to follow the Code of Conduct.
  • Do not argue, threaten, or fight with any other person verbally or physically.
  • Encourage sportsmanship, fairplay, and wellbeing before any personal desire you may have for your child to win.

Failure to adhere to the Code of Conduct will result in various actions depending on the severity of the breach.

If you observe any violation of our Competition Policies or Code of Conducts please report this is writing to compete@doubledotsquash.com. If it is an immediate issue please also report it to the tournament manager at the event. When a report if submitted the involved parties will be contacts and appropriate action taken towards solving the issue.
